Women Cell


The Women Cell, right from its very inception in 2004, has been incessantly working to sensitize students develop a balanced view about the various social and gender issues. The    primary aim of the Cell is to provide a safe and congenial atmosphere to all the girl students in the college. Concentrating on encouraging and empowering them, lectures are organized on women related issues like their legal rights, health, hygiene and sanitation, female infanticide, importance of girl child, girl child education, women’s rights, food and nutrition, maintenance of clean environment, family planning, problems of child marriage etc. During Seminars, Workshops and lecture they discuss, deliberate, and debate in order to enhance awareness. Using a diverse range of academic and cultural activities including talks by well known professionals with special expertise in their respective fields, the Cell makes extra efforts in creating awareness about the gender disparity prevalent in society and tries to explore and suggest ways to counter it. The Cell by organizing various intra and inter college competitions like essay writing, poster making, quiz, debate, dramatics etc., fosters decision making ability in girl students by inculcating self–sufficiency and encourages self–reliance in choosing their vocations according to their own bent of minds.
The main objective of the Cell, through the conduction of such useful and relevant activities and interactive sessions is to create awareness, develop critical thinking, and make the girl students conscious of their real worth as women and to create new sensibility for the construction of a society free of all prejudices against women. All the programmes conducted by the Cell emphasize on the rights of women and make them understand as to how they should shape themselves right from the very beginning as they are the future providers of healthy generations.
The influx of more and more girl students in the college during the recent years has rendered the female students an active and expressive platform to share their diverse opinions, ideas and perspectives. During the session 2017-18 various activities viz. Poster Competition, Hindi Essay Competition, Rangoli, Mehandi, Solo and Group Song and Dance were organized by the Women Cell of the College. A Health Check up Camp was also organized in which a large number of students were benefited. Dr.Saraswati Bishnoi ,  member of College Development Committee and Retd. Principal was felicitated by the Women Cell for her contribution in the field of Environment. Various activities were organized to select the students for “Vishal Nari Sammelan (Shakti-2017). In the “Shakti-2017” Dr.Anila Purohit, Associate Professor of History was felicitated for her outstanding contribution in the field of women empowerment.  The girls of the College won second prize in the function. With reference to the National Nutrition Mission and Save Girl Child scheme of Govt. of India, various quiz competitions were organized.  The first, second and third winner were honoured & given the prizes.
